Why automations break

Not because they were built badly. Because they were built once.

Your automation depends on other people’s software. A rate limit tightens. A field is deprecated. A CSV arrives with an extra column. The workflow doesn’t crash — it silently skips records, or writes the wrong thing, and it does that for six weeks before anyone notices.

Most automation work stops at “it runs”. That’s about 60% of the job. The rest is error handling, retries, dead-letter queues, alerting, and someone watching.

How we build them

We start with one workflow, not fifteen. Automating a bad process at scale just produces failures faster, so the first thing we do is check the process is worth keeping.

Then we build for the failure cases first — what happens when the API is down, when the record is malformed, when the same event fires twice. AI accelerates the build. A senior engineer decides how it should fail.

  1. Scheduled ingest triggers the flow.
  2. A dedup verdict gates every write.
  3. Verified records upsert into the CRM.
  4. Anything rejected lands in the dead-letter queue with the reason attached.
  5. Every sync appends to the SQLite ledger in WAL mode.
  6. The ops sweep monitors the flow and raises the alert path.

What we won’t do

  • Automate a broken process — we’ll tell you to fix the process first
  • Build an automation with no monitoring and no error handling, even if you ask for it cheaper
  • Take on workflows needing human judgement on every record. That’s not automation, that’s a slower person
  • Rebuild something a $30/month tool already does well

FAQ

n8n, Make, or Zapier?
Zapier for simple, low-volume, non-technical. Make for mid-complexity with a visual team. n8n for complex logic, self-hosting, data residency or volume — it’s also cheapest at scale. We’ll recommend against our preference when yours is right.
Can you self-host n8n in our environment?
Yes. It’s our default for regulated data and high volume.
What happens when an integration breaks?
On a care plan, we get the alert, fix it, and tell you what happened. Without one, you get documentation and monitoring, and you handle it.
Is $5,000 really fixed?
Yes, for the scope on the Sprint page. If discovery shows the work is larger, we tell you before you pay, not after.
